Komondor Hungarian Guard Dog and Family Protector are one of the oldest breeds. The first mention of the breed in writing is in the early 1500's. They are typically very healthy animals with few health issues.
Newfoundland's are only recognized by AKC if they are Brown, Black or Landseer. There are other colors but they are not part of the AKC registry. All Newfie's drool.......... All Newfie's drool!

We are a small farm in Western KY, where we rescue Great Pyrn’s, have mini donkeys, chickens, ducks and a diva Hereford Hog, named Olivia. Our family is very dedicated to our Farm Family and that includes, four Great Pyrn’s, two Komondors and two Newfoundland’s. We offer free tours to children with special needs and offer them a farmer for the day experience.
Our love of Komondors has evolved with our love of LBGD and the Komondor is to that group, what Hulk is to the Avengers. Always first on the scene and there to do clean up work in the thick of it. The Komondor is the tallest and fastest of the Large Breed Guardian Dogs, to watch them run and navigate is like watching a ballerina triathlon runner. They have the ability to run, leap and turn in the air like no other animal, I’ve ever seen. A Komondor will be fiercely protective of his herd family and his human family. They originated from Hungary where they were bred to blend in with the herd or flock and protect by day and night.
Our Komondors live in the house with us and guard our house and property day and night. They are a shed free dog, with little to no dander. You can cut them in a doodle type cut or keep them long with cords. They are brilliantly smart with great instincts and we allow them to use those God given instincts as often as possible when working the farm. This breed is also a good fit for a family with a child on the autism spectrum, ours have great instincts on sticking with kids and not allowing them to wander off. These animals will never allow their owner or master to be bullied or taken advantage of by others. We believe that a Komondor is a perfect family member who has much to offer.
Coming Litter expected in late July 2020. Names are being taken now for waiting list.
Our puppies have a 18 month warranty on them against any birth defects in hips, heart and DM.3
Cash’s parents are both from Czech Republic they were brought state side and raised on a working farm in Wisconsin, where Cash was born. Carly is from a horse farm in Tennesse, and her grandparents are both from Hungary. They both have excellent confirmation and strong blood lines through the European Crufts Canine Registration, the equal of the American Kennel Club.
Cash and Carly are registerd through AKC with complete health checks including but not limited to hip and DM (DNA) tested and cleared.
Komondors are brilliantly smart and will need a strong Alpha pack leader (you) to help steer them through their adolescent years. Our Komondors have been easier to convince to our way of thinking, than our Great Pyrn’s were. I think much of that comes from the Komondors large need to love and protect their master. Our Pryn’s were sure they were the only dogs that existed in the universe, and training them was much harder, as they are far more stubborn. Carly our Momma, is scary smart and I do mean scary smart. Cash the Daddy is what I think of as “best all round.” He‘s got the best personality, best temperament, biggest heart and he is always for whoever he thinks is lowest man on the totem pole. He’s a protector of the smallest and weakest. The two of them together should produce the best pups who will not only have gorgeous pups but smart good natured pups. We ♥️♥️ both of them!!
Your puppies will come to you with shots, already chipped, and on a large breed puppy food . We can help arrange transportation to those unable to drive and pick up your new family member. We will not fly puppies in extreme heat or cold. We will purchase on our end an airline approved pet friendly carrier and meet you at the Louisville KY or Nashville TN airport for an additional charge if the summer heat or winter cold prevents your pup from flying commercial air. Puppies can fly in your lap on Southwest Airlines one way and is an awesome option. We will assist you with numbers for all transit options. Sensory Dog does not send their pups on animal transport unless it is a family friend of buyer. From our own experience with animal transit, it is a long long haul in a van for multiple days, with cages stacked on top of of each other. It is non stop barking and at times dogs can become agitated and aggressive and not all dogs on van will be puppies. . .
Nana is a Landseer Newfie and is 2 years old. She might be the prettiest, sweetest, most protective dog I've ever seen. We call her the equalizer as she always makes sure if she thinks anybody is being picked on, she's there instantly to have their back and is wonderful with all children.
Kobe is a solid black Newfie with a black spot on his tongue, which is a common pigment marking in Newfie. He is the sweetest dog we've ever owned and that is saying a lot! He is from the coveted Pouch Cove/King of Helluland blood line. We flew him from Slovakia to Chicago Jan. 2020.
When thinking about making a Newfie part of your family, you need to think about their care. Newfie's are heavy boned dogs that grow quickly their first two years. During that time its important that their growing bodies are protected from injury. Our Newfie's parents are heart and hip certified.

Our family has grown from four children to four children, three son in laws and five grandsons and one granddaughter. We consider ourselves blessed, we have spent the last 27 years building and developing one of the largest child development centers in Kentucky. We spend most of our free time working on the farm we bought four years years ago that was frozen in time from 1980 something. However the property had two good barns and the land we wanted, so we decided to redo the house a little at a time. It was our dream to buy a farm and raise the dogs we love so much❤️ and have a place to let our grandchildren roam, run and play. We found it ❤️
Do they eat a lot ?
No, no more than any other bigger dog, ours eat about 4 cups a day.
Do Kom’s shed ?
No they are pretty much shed free and if kept cut like doodle cut, you will occasionally get a fuzz off of it, but it is little to none.
Is cording hard?
No they naturally cord, you just have to split them as they start to cord. I spend about 20 mins a week working on cords on one dog.
Do Newfoundland’s drool?
Yes all Newfie's drool at some level, Nana only drools if she is very hot or has food envy. The latter being the one we see most often. Kobe drools most often when hot or drinking water. If drool bothers you, they are not the dog for you. We have Great Pyrn’s that drool as well, it’s the soft mouth and looser jowl area. Which has much to do with the Breed and it’s ability to rescue in water.
Best personality, could have easily been a show dog but we use him as therapy dog for the children who visit the farm with special needs. He has excellent confirmation and his coat is stunning. His health is excellent, he's never been sick in two and half years of life. He is a big big protector of his family.
She is the smartest dog, we've ever owned. You can speak to her in sentences instead of basic commands. She has excellent conformation, and very good color hues in her coat. We keep her cut short because she travels off property to work with me. Carly has a grain allergy as due most Koms at some level. Most Koms have grain sensitivity, it is thought it is due to the long existence of the animal and that they can not do the GMO modified grains.used in today's dog foods..
Kobe is the offspring of the Cove Pouch and King Of Helluland breeding program, which has produce numerous best in shows in the USA and Europe along with the top honor overall best of show at Westminster. So he has a wonderful bloodline, that gives him a very a large stature, big head and the famous Newfie stocky thick body. He and Nana will produce breathtaking puppies, I’m sure. His personality is by far best all around, he loves everyone and everyone loves him ❤️
